Nabers (79.7) caught seven of nine targets for 111 yards, per ESPN. Cam Skattebo (76.8) ran 17 times for 124 yards and a score, and Devin Singletary (75.8) added the 30-yard winner in overtime.

The low end belonged to guard Jon Runyan Jr. at 50.0, with Darnell Mooney at 50.6 and Isaiah Likely at 51.4, per Giants Wire.

Giants PFF Grades Week 7: The Defense

Carter's grade came without a sack; he had four tackles, per ESPN. Micah McFadden graded 36.4 despite a team-high 10 tackles, per Giants Wire and ESPN.

Giants PFF Grades Week 7: Special Teams

Long snapper Ben Mann led the unit at 81.3, and punter Jordan Stout graded 66.3, per Giants Wire. Stout averaged 49.8 yards on four punts, per ESPN.

Zvada's 36.1 was the lowest special teams grade, Giants Wire reported. He missed both field goal tries and made all three extra points, per ESPN.

What the Week 7 Grades Mean for the Season

Reader's 90.4 season grade ranks first among 126 qualified interior linemen, per his PFF page. Carter's 90.3 ranks third of 112 edge defenders, per PFF.

McCarthy still has no season grade; his PFF page lists him below the snap minimum. The Giants visit Philadelphia in Week 9, per Giants.com.

Our Take: Week 7 PFF Grades Back the Young Core

On Sunday I posted that PFF had DJ Reader at 91 and that it's amazing how players get elevated with great coaching. Giants Wire's list has him at 87.2 now, but he's been great.

The rookies are the bigger story. Fields at 88.9 and Reese at 81.2 are why I wrote that young players are actually developing. That is something we rarely saw in recent years of Giants football.

McCarthy averaged 9 yards per attempt, and after the game I said the Giants have themselves a quarterback. An 80.0 in his first start backs that up.

Carter is the one I'll keep pushing. Back in September I said five sacks in 20 career games wasn't good enough and that he needed more disruption. Sunday's 91.0 came with no sacks, so that is the number I'll keep tracking after the bye.
