Key points
Abdul Carter posted six pressures and a 90.9 PFF grade in the Giants' 27-21 overtime win over the Texans.
The box score shows four tackles but no sacks and no QB hits.
Carter entered Week 7 tied for the league lead among edge rushers in ESPN's pass rush win rate.
Abdul Carter didn't show up much in the box score Sunday, but he lived in the Texans' backfield. The Giants' second-year edge rusher posted six pressures and a 90.9 PFF grade in the 27-21 overtime win at Houston.
Those numbers were shared by Big Blue Film Room on X, which noted that Carter continues to produce and pressure the quarterback.
He came into the week tied for the top spot among edge rushers in ESPN's pass rush win rate. We broke that down in Giants' Abdul Carter Ties for Top Spot in ESPN Pass Rush Win Rate.
Abdul Carter's Pressure Without the Payoff
The pressure was real. The finish still wasn't there. Carter finished with four tackles, two of them solo, and no sacks, tackles for loss or QB hits, per the ESPN box score.
That is the same pattern we've seen for most of his season. His win rate says he beats blockers early, but the sacks have not followed at the same pace.
A 90.9 grade from PFF says the rush itself was among the best on the field. It's the kind of afternoon that helps a coverage unit even when it never shows up as a sack.

Where Carter's PFF Grade Stood Coming In
This wasn't a one-week spike. Carter entered Week 7 with an 87.9 season grade from PFF, third among 115 qualifying edge rushers. That's tracked in our Giants PFF grades 2026 hub.
We explained why that grade holds up despite modest sack totals in Giants' Abdul Carter Ranks Third Among NFL Edge Rushers in PFF Grade. Sunday added another strong week to that file.
ESPN's pass rush win rate rankings tell the same story from a different angle. Carter beats his blocker quickly and often.
What Comes Next for the Giants Pass Rush
The win moved the Giants to 4-2-1 heading into their Week 8 bye, according to Giants.com. Next up is a trip to Philadelphia on Nov. 8.
That game will be a real test of whether the pressures start turning into sacks against a division rival.
Our Take: Pressure Is Good, Sacks Still Matter
I haven't changed my view on this. Back in September, I said five sacks in 20 career games for Abdul Carter was not good enough, and that he needed more disruption.
To be fair to him, six pressures and a 90.9 grade is disruption. That's what I asked for, and he is delivering it on a weekly basis now.
But my point was always about finishing. A top-five pick on the edge has to turn some of those pressures into sacks, strip-sacks and hits that change drives. Sunday he had none of those in the box score.
So I'll give him credit for the process. The bye is a good time to clean up the finish.
If he starts closing in Philadelphia, the Giants will have the pass rusher they drafted him to be.
