Key points

  • Jermaine Eluemunor has the highest pass block win rate of any NFL offensive tackle this season, at 96.7%, according to PFF.

  • He has allowed three pressures on 161 pass-blocking snaps, and his 81.3 PFF pass-blocking grade ranks seventh among 74 tackles.

  • Eluemunor missed practice Wednesday with a calf injury but was back on the field Thursday, ahead of Sunday's game in Houston.

Update (Oct. 22, 2026): Eluemunor (calf), left tackle Andrew Thomas (groin) and Marcus Mbow (knee) all practiced Thursday, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan, as Big Blue Film Room shared on X. All three sat out Wednesday.

USA Today's Art Stapleton said the three were "participating to some degree in position drills during the media viewing period," per NBC Sports. The Giants' official Thursday report will list each player's participation level.

Jermaine Eluemunor has been the Giants' steadiest pass protector this season, and PFF's data now ranks him first at his position. According to PFF, he has won 96.7% of his pass-blocking reps, the highest rate of any NFL offensive tackle.

The number was shared by Big Blue Film Room on X. It comes seven months after New York re-signed its right tackle to a three-year, $39 million contract.

Eluemunor missed the Week 6 loss to the Saints with a calf injury. Marcus Mbow started in his place, as we covered in Marcus Mbow Allows One Pressure in Giants Spot Start vs Saints.

Why Jermaine Eluemunor's Win Rate Stands Out

PFF added pass block win rate to its premium stats in September. It measures how often a blocker does not lose his rep. A beat still counts as a loss when a quick throw gets out first.

Pressure totals tell the same story. Eluemunor has allowed three pressures, including one sack, on 161 pass-blocking snaps, according to his PFF player page.

His 81.3 PFF pass-blocking grade ranks seventh among 74 qualified tackles. Every Giants grade we track lives on our Giants PFF grades page.

The Giants' Eluemunor Contract Looks Better Every Week

The Giants first signed Eluemunor to a two-year, $14 million deal in 2024. He started all 16 games he played in 2025.

In March, New York kept him on a three-year, $39 million contract with $25.45 million guaranteed, per Over The Cap. His cap hit is $5.9 million this season before rising to $17.05 million in 2027 and $16 million in 2028.

There is a coaching tie, too. Baltimore drafted Eluemunor in the fifth round in 2017, when John Harbaugh coached the Ravens.

The caveat is sample size. He has played five games, so a few lost reps would move the percentage.

Jermaine Eluemunor's Calf Is the Giants' Concern in Houston

Eluemunor did not practice Wednesday because of the calf injury, according to the Giants' first Week 7 injury report. Left tackle Andrew Thomas (groin) and Mbow (knee) also sat out.

That leaves the tackle group thin before Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff against the Texans. JJ McCarthy makes his first Giants start, as we covered in Giants to Start JJ McCarthy vs Texans After Fourth-Quarter Rally.

Game designations come with Friday's report.

Our Take: Re-Signing Jermaine Eluemunor Was the Right Call

I said in early October that keeping Jermaine Eluemunor was "so so important." Now that he tops PFF's win rate list, I'll go further. It was an unbelievable signing in 2024 and an unbelievable re-signing in March.

He has been rock solid. In September, after he allowed no pressures against Dallas, I called him "such a quality player, great leader."

Before the season, I also called this the best Giants offensive line on paper since 2011. Eluemunor at right tackle was a big part of why I felt that way.

What I'm watching now is the calf. He did not practice Wednesday, and two other Giants tackles sat out as well. All three were back on the field Thursday, and that's huge news before McCarthy's first start in Houston.
