Notre Dame standout running back Jeremiyah Love has openly shared his strong mutual interest with the New York Giants, fueling speculation that he could be a prime target for the team holding the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

In a recent interview at the NFL Scouting Combine, Love highlighted his positive interactions with Giants coaches, stating: "I like them a lot, I feel like they like me a lot as well. Hopefully they call my name on draft night and we can continue building better relationships."

This comment comes amid growing buzz linking the explosive Notre Dame product to New York. The Giants have shown openness to investing heavily in the running back position to revitalize their ground game.

Reports indicate the team is "high" on Love and seriously considering top running backs in both the draft and free agency, including names like Kenneth Walker and Travis Etienne.

Love enters the draft as the consensus top running back prospect in the 2026 class. His elite athleticism shone at the Combine, where he clocked a blazing 4.36-second 40-yard dash — among the fastest for running backs and drawing comparisons to dynamic NFL backs like Jahmyr Gibbs.

In 2025, Love delivered a breakout campaign for Notre Dame, rushing for 1,372 yards on 199 carries (6.9 yards per attempt) with 18 touchdowns. He added 27 receptions for 280 yards and 3 scores, showcasing three-down versatility. Many view him as a potential franchise-altering talent capable of immediate impact.
